Neglected Diseases
TI Pharma's research program is based on the disease areas as specified in Priority Medicines, a report by the World Health Organization (WHO). Within TI Pharma's project portfolio, there is a special focus on neglected diseases.
Neglected diseases, such as malaria, represent a major health, societal and economic burden on developing counrties. Within its project portfolio, TI Pharma is seeking to develop solutions to these diseases, mobilizing public and private partners in multilateral consortia – bringing together a wide range of competences and resources.
TI Pharma's neglected diseases projects:
- Phosphodiesterase inhibitors for the treatment of neglected diseases
- Vaccine against Chikungunya virus infections
- Development of a Malaria vaccine
- Effective therapy in HIV infection
- Hot medicines: stability of protein-based medicines
- (Design quality into products)
Due to the lack of economic push in this area, gathering support and funds is difficult. TI Pharma is seeking additional funding to support these projects and stimulate new projects in this area. Please contact us in Leiden.
