GPCR forum for established targets
The main goal of this project is to explore and exploit novel concepts and tools for G protein-coupled receptors with the explicit aim of discovering lead compounds with an entirely new mechanism of action. G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) have been and still are highly successful drug targets. In fact, forty to fifty percent of drugs currently marketed interact with these proteins. Due to their physiological and pathophysiological relevance, these GPCRs are prime targets of interest for both academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
