Design quality into products
In this project, science-based rules are developed for the design, production, and control of pharmaceutical products with an emphasis on fixed dose combinations. Fixed dose combination products are typically formulated with more than one active pharmaceutical ingredient. Kees Voort Maarschalk, research coordinator of the project: “One of the major achievements of the project team so far is that blending of cohesive drug substances in a mixture is dominated by the abrasion rate of the cohesive structures. Secondly, single particle interactions do not necessarily predict strengths of such cohesive structure. And finally, experimental designs of test series can be made more efficient on the basis of systematic use of prior knowledge.”
