TNF ligands in cancer

Receptors belonging to the Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) receptor family are potential targets for therapy. Activation of the TNFRelated Apoptosis-Inducing Ligand (TRAIL) receptors induces controlled cell death in cancer cells, whereas activation of other receptors stimulates proliferation and survival. The project’s goal is to develop strategies to target these receptors, providing the scientific basis for novel cancer therapies.
