Kinases in cancer

Kinases are generally believed to be among the best targets for cancer drug discovery, yet only a few of the more than 550 kinases are currently targeted in cancer therapy. In this project new innovative cell-based systems will be used to identify completely new classes of kinases involved in cancer. A major aim of this project is to identify truly validated drug targets by using animal models for cancer that very closely mimic human disease.
