Three TI Pharma researchers are awarded VENI and VIDI Awards
NWO has awarded 232 young researchers, who have recently obtained their PhDs, a VENI or VIDI Award. From a total of 508 applications, 89 researchers will receive a VIDI Award. Among these is one TI Pharma researcher: Carlos Fitzsimons (‘Putting the brake on Epilepsy’). He will receive up to 800,000 euros to develop his own independent research line in Epilepsy over a period of three years.
From a total of 809 applications, 143 young researchers will receive a VENI Award. Among these are two TI Pharma researchers. They are: Rob Lane ('Analyzing a new focal point in Parkinson's disease') and Chris de Graaf (‘Hitting the right spots: Integrative structure-based virtual screening against intended and undesired protein drug targets’). Each of these researchers will receive 250,000 euros to develop their ideas and carry out their research over a period of three years.
