TI Pharma postdoc appointed at Griffin Discoveries
Dr Herman Lim, who worked as a postdoc in TI Pharma’s project CXC chemokine receptors, has recently joined Griffin Discoveries (GD). GD is a drug discovery company that develops innovative G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) targeting drugs for therapeutic areas with unmet clinical need. The company spun-out of VU University Amsterdam in 2009. Its founders are Dr Rogier Smits, Dr Iwan de Esch en Dr Rob Leurs.
Interacting experience
Lim has been appointed to set up molecular pharmacology within the company. He obtained his PhD in Molecular Pharmacology at the VU University Amsterdam. Rob Leurs, one of the founders of GD says: "Dr Lim has excellent knowledge of receptor proteins and their role in inflammatory processes. Also, his interacting experience with pharmaceutical companies, gained from working at TI Pharma, will certainly come in handy in his new role.”
Building bridges
Daan Crommelin, Scientific Director of TI Pharma, adds: “We are very proud that two of the founders of the company are involved in separate TI Pharma projects. It is a good thing that our researchers are able to connect outside of the TI Pharma network.”
