• Developing a remedy against MRSA  

    Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, see picture) is a bacterium that is resistant to most common antibiotics. Moreover, it can ‘easily change coat’ thereby developing immunity to new antibiotics as well. The bacterium is therefore difficult to treat and developing a remedy is a big challenge. In our project researchers are developing a medicine that attacks MRSA on several fronts. Read more >>

  • Development of a malaria vaccine

    Current malaria medicine is expensive and insufficient to cater for all infected people. Finding an adequate vaccine for malaria is thus a pressing matter. In our project three research groups, each with their own specialties, are brought together to work on developing a new vaccine. The first step in the project is isolating a sufficient amount of the malaria-causing parasite. Read more »

  • Developing medicines for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease

    Parkinson and Alzheimer are neurodegenerative diseases with a considerable socio-economic burden. The symptoms of both diseases are well known although they may differ between individuals. As to the cause however, researchers so far have not been able to find a conclusive answer. Our project aims to identify the genes and proteins that are involved in the development of the diseases.   • euSEND fights neglected tropical diseases

    Neglected diseases, such as malaria, represent a major health, societal and economic burden on developing counrties. Within its project portfolio, TI Pharma is seeking to develop solutions to these diseases, mobilizing public and private partners in multilateral consortia – bringing together a wide range of competences and resources.  Read more >>
