Management Team

TI Pharma's Management Team is formed by a Managing Director and Scientific Director: Willem N.G.M. de Laat, Ph.D. and Professor Daan J.A. Crommelin, Ph.D.

Willem N.G.M. de Laat, Ph.D.

Willem de Laat, Ph.D., is the managing director of TI Pharma.
Before joining TI Pharma De Laat held several management positions at Organon, the latest of which being Medical Director of Organon International.

De Laat specialized in gynaecology after finishing medical school at the University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. After receiving his Ph.D. he practiced gynaecology at the Westeinde Hospital in the Hague until 1989.
In 1989 De Laat started as Medical Director, at Organon, the Netherlands. In 1992 he became responsible for marketing gynaecological products for Organon worldwide (until1997).

De Laat has published approximately 20 articles, is the co-author of several educational books and has held approximately 50 presentations and chairmanships at various congresses and symposia. In 1992 De Laat received his executive MBA at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and Rochester, USA.


Professor Daan J.A. Crommelin, Ph.D.  

Professor Daan Crommelin, Ph.D., is presently scientific director of the Dutch Top Institute Pharma in Leiden. He is also professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics at Utrecht University. He is adjunct professor at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Utah. Crommelin is co-founder of OctoPlus, a Leiden based company specialized in the development of pharmaceutical product formulations and advanced drug delivery systems. He published extensively and is on the editorial board of 10 peer reviewed journals in the pharmaceutical sciences. He also advises venture capital groups. He chaired the Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (F.I.P.), was chair of the organizing committee of the Pharmaceutical Sciences World Conference 2007 in Amsterdam. He is past-president of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS) and vice chair of the scientific advisory board of the European Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI).
